ok.. i just picked up a firey dragons swor.d. got offerd 4k.. the thing is im torn between it because im a combat ranger so.. i was wondering whats the dif between slash dmg and firey dmg vs. players.. what would be better off?

Depends. If the person you're fighting has more armor vs elemental or fire, it'd be more beneficial to use the slash. If they have more armor vs physical, then the elemental. Best bet would be to keep one of each type on different weapon sets, like many Rangers do with long bow and short bow.
